In email correspondence subsequent to his guestbook entry of March 2, 2001, Howard P. Parks, a great-great-great-grandson of John W. Parks wrote:

John William Parks was born in 1833 in Suffolk County, New York. He died September 1885. He was buried October 2, 1885, in Cyrpress Hill Cemetery, approximately 1 week after his death. He is buried in the Locust Grove section, grave #8992. I know he had at least one son named John Howard Parks who was born July 3, 1852 in New York, New York. I'll let you know when I find more.
