GAEBEL, FREDERICK A. H., age 37 years; enrolled at New York city to serve two years, and mustered in as Captain, Company A, April 23, 1861; promoted Major, February 8, 1862; mustered in as Lieutenant-Colonel, November 1, 1862; wounded in action, December 13, 1862, at Fredericksburg, Va.; mustered out with regiment, May 8, 1863, at New York city; subsequent service in Veteran Reserve Corps; see 7th Infantry, reorganizing; commissioned Captain, July 4, 1861, with rank from April 26, 1861, original; Major, February 12, 1862, with rank from February 8, 1862, vice Von Schack, promoted; Lieutenant-Colonel, October 13, 1862, with rank from September 28, 1862, vice Keller, resigned.
