Savage AJ-2 BuNo 130416

This photo showing BuNo 130416 in VAH-6 markings and refueling a Cougar was sent to me 9 January 2005 by Frank Houle of Orange Park, Florida, who was a member of VAH-6. The picture appears to be taken about the same time as the one on page 87 of Ginter which shows this aircraft refueling a VC-3 F2H-3 Banshee in October 1955. The paint scheme indicates that it could not have been earlier than that.

This photo of BuNo 130416 was offered for sale on ebay in March 2005. (I purchased it.)
The picture is an original 1958 BW 9" X 7" UPI United Press International News photo. The label affixed to the front of the picture reads:

PORTS - 120905 - 12/9/58 - NORFOLK, VA.--PLANE CRASH--The Ocean View section of Norfolk was dealt a stunning blow today 12/9 as the Navy AJ 2 tanker above crashed, taking the lives of its 4 crewmen and two babies in one of the houses that it hit. UNITED PRESS INTERNATIONAL TELEPHOTO.
The seller of this picture says:
Photograph is from the collection of Bob Steele, noted aviation archivist and historian who was also a USMC Combat Photographer in WWII and a staff photographer for various Los Angeles newspapers after the war.
