Savage AJ-2 BuNo 130418

In this circa 1971 picture, BuNo 130418, registered as N68667, is shown in Avco Lycoming markings. Possibly the location is Bridgeport, Connecticut.

At the moment I am not sure of the source of this picture.

Savage AJ-2 BuNo 130418

This picture, showing the plane at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida, was archived from the museum's web site at
http://broadcast.illuminatedtech.com/display/story.cfm?bp=109&sid=8104.
A slightly smaller version of the same picture can be found at http://avia.russian.ee/air/usa/na_savage.html.

NOTE: The second plane pictured at the Pensacola Museum site is NOT a picture of 130418. It is actually 134035. It was still in the hands of the manufacturers, and the "18" indicates only that it was the eighteenth production model.

Savage AJ-2 BuNo 130418

I purchased an 8 by 10 copy of this picture on ebay in June 2005. The seller was in England
The aircraft appears to be on the flight line at the Museum in Pensacola. It was from this picture that I noticed for the first time that 130418 no longer has its tail hook. This is not surprising considering its life after the navy, but one would have thought that the museum would have made an effort to find one.

And yet another picture showing the plane at the National Museum of Naval Aviation in Pensacola, Florida.
This picture was archived 20 June 2005 from
http://www.aero-web.org/specs/northam/a-2b.htm.
It can also be found at

The file on the web where I found it said, "Submitted by Mark Houpt of Indianapolis, Indiana, USA."
The timing of its appearance on the web and the covering of the windows makes me wonder whether the picture was taken after the 2004 hurricane that hit Pensacola.
